Dr. Erin Crenshaw earned her masters and doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant in Los Angeles. She completed her APA accredited internship with the student base at the University of California, Santa Cruz, continuing her work with college students as a postdoctoral fellow at Moorpark College.

Dr. Crenshaw appreciates how vulnerable the therapy process can be and accordingly considers it an honor to be able to support her clients through a myriad of life challenges. Dr. Crenshaw is strongly relational and duly believes that therapeutic change can only occur through client safety, a collaborative alliance, and mutual trust. She uses a multicultural approach to treatment that acknowledges the intersectionality and salience of identity.

As a Black and Mexican woman, Dr. Crenshaw understands the unique plight of underserved populations and the multi-dimensionality of identity formation. She approaches therapy with a Humanistic and Person-Centered foundation, also drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy.

Dr. Crenshaw is passionate about social justice issues and overall advocacy for her clients. Accordingly, therapy with Dr. Crenshaw emphasizes empowerment and a focus on client strengths. She has had the opportunity to work with clients across the age spectrum, most of whom are survivors of complex, generational trauma. Many forms of trauma that occur in youth create attachment styles that impact how we interact with friends, family, authority figures, and romantic partners. Furthermore, this often shapes how we relate to and view ourselves. Dr. Crenshaw is particularly interested and has experience in providing treatment through attachment frameworks, supporting her clients in dismantling shame, self-judgment, and unhelpful guilt.
