Beth is an associate professional clinical counselor (APCC15923) who collaborates with her clients to create a felt sense of safety in their lives; safety within the therapeutic relationship, themselves, their bodies, and their personal relationships. She also partners with her clients to build trust and resilience so that they can pursue their goals and respond to life’s inevitable challenges effectively.  Beth additionally facilitates her clients’ development of self-compassion, self-care, and boundaries to increase their sense of well-being. Adults and adolescents who would like to work with issues related to trauma, anxiety, chronic illness, parenting, and work stress would especially benefit from Beth’s work. Beth is LGBTQIA+, Poly/ENM, Highly Sensitive Person, and neurodivergent affirming.  

Beth has an integrative approach that draws from person-centered therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness techniques, and attachment theory. The client’s experience of working with Beth is her warm and gentle demeanor, her use of education to build insight, and her empathic challenging of patterns that do not serve her clients. She also enjoys sprinkling in some humor! An additional approach that Beth is passionate about is the use of somatic work. She believes that the body has a central role in our healing. An example of this work is the use of body awareness to cope with emotions or pain.

Beth has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Miami University and a master’s degree in clinical counseling from Alliant International University. Her somatic work is informed by her massage therapy training at the School of Integrative Psycho-Structural Bodywork. Beth’s internship year took place at Straight Talk Counseling where she gained experience with a wide variety of client ages and issues.
