Joanna Blazo is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #19399) dedicated to building a sense of trust and a solid foundation with individuals, maximizing inner resources and strengths to relieve obstacles that hinder their holistic well-being and life fulfillment, leading to healing, transformative growth, and expansion. 

Joanna utilizes a warm and empathic person-centered, integrative approach that is grounded in psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, attachment, existential, narrative, mindfulness-based, somatic, and therapeutic play and creative art practices, engaging clients in healing past and present challenges and traumatic events, strengthening their healthy beliefs and behaviors, coping skills, self-efficacy, and personal agency to effect positive and lasting change. 

Joanna completed her undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Coastal Carolina University and a Master of Education degree in Counseling from the College of William & Mary. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with mental health struggles like interpersonal challenges, trauma, depression, anxiety, attachment wounds, shame and guilt, difficult transitions, ADHD, and addiction.
