RAELENE TORRES, AMFT
Raelene is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #149804) who offers a warm, authentic, and compassionate presence in the therapy room. She understands that starting therapy can feel intimidating or overwhelming and works intentionally to create a space where clients feel safe, seen, and understood.
Raelene approaches her work with care, thoughtfulness, and authenticity. She has found that reflecting on her own experiences and the stories of others has deepened her empathy, compassion, and clinical insight. She strives to remain present and grounded with each client, meeting them with curiosity and respect as they explore their story and move toward healing and wholeness.
Raelene earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Biola University’s Talbot School of Theology. She has experience working in a variety of ministry settings, including youth and young adult ministries, and has an understanding of clients who come from faith-based backgrounds. Raelene is sensitive to both the ways faith can serve as a source of meaning and support, as well as how experiences of church hurt can impact a person’s emotional and spiritual journey.
Raelene primarily utilizes a psychodynamic framework while also incorporating cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) interventions when appropriate. She believes therapy is not one-size-fits-all and tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs, goals, and lived experiences.

Raelene is especially drawn to working with teenagers and young adults. During her traineeship with Arcadia Unified School District, where she primarily worked with high school students, her passion for supporting young people continued to grow. In this setting, she gained experience working with grief, depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and trauma.
Having engaged in her own therapy journey, Raelene understands that therapy can be challenging at times and requires courage and commitment. No matter what brings someone to therapy, she is committed to walking alongside her clients with care and intention as they process concerns, explore underlying patterns, and move toward greater freedom and wholeness.
