MIMI KENT, AMFT
Mimi is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (License: AMFT 135027) who partners with clients to support their healing, growth, and positive transformation. She works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and strives to offer immediate relief from painful symptoms and limiting mindsets. She creates an intimate space infused with empathy and curiosity but not without directness, authenticity, and challenge.
Mimi has successfully helped clients reframe and address depression, anxiety, trauma, and shame, drawing from person-centered therapy, existential therapy, behavioral models, mindfulness, and intercultural and transpersonal psychology. Specific areas clients may wish to focus on with Mimi include relationships, life decisions and transitions, self-esteem, health, sexuality, identity, and spirituality.
Mimi earned a Master in Clinical Psychology (Spiritual and Depth Specialization) from Antioch University and served her clinical traineeship at Airport Marina Counseling Service. She holds a Master in English Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Bachelor in English Literature from Washington University in St. Louis. She is also a 25-year practitioner of yoga and meditation.
