Rachel Coleman, LMFT

Rachel Coleman, LMFT is originally from New Jersey but chased the warm weather and sunshine to Southern California to earn her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. Rachel's passion and calling is to work with those struggling with mental health challenges due to their self-doubt, harmful lived experiences, traumas and perfectionism.

Rachel's career has taken her from working at an eating disorder treatment center in Long Beach as a Recovery Coach, Primary Therapist and Program Director to building a private practice serving south Orange County. She has been practicing in this community for over a decade and has been honored to walk alongside clients and their families as well as become a trusted referral source for pediatricians, endocrinologists, school counselors, and nutritionists also dedicated to serving the Orange County community.

Rachel is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Approved Consultant (Supervisor) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), expertly trained to treat even the most challenging presentations of anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. In order to support the underlying root causes of eating disorders, she completed a certification course in Dialectical Behavior Therapist (DBT), she has a certification of completion for Perinatal Mood Disorders, and is a certified Intuitive Eating Pro. She held a position on the Board of the Orange County chapter of IAEDP from 2011-2016.  Rachel is continuously researching, consulting, and learning more about eating disorders so she can remain fresh, informed and confident in her healing approach.

Rachel enjoys working with clients who are learning how to understand their bodies' unique communication styles and needs, however that is presenting itself. She works with Perinatal Mood Disorders and supports new parents in their journey to ground their thoughts and physical bodies, neurodivergent clients who are learning coping skills to calm overstimulated sensory systems, and clients whose attachment disruptions has led to borderline personality development or low emotional regulation. Rachel loves helping people learn to understand themselves and find peace in their process.
