Lauren Petryshyn, BSN, RN

Lauren Petryshyn is a Nurse Practitioner student specializing in Pediatric and Psychiatric/Mental Health. Lauren has experience working in various pediatric, adult, and mental health settings between her time as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and as a Registered Nurse (RN). Lauren’s passion to help others stemmed initially from being the oldest of four children, and then grew when she both volunteered and worked as a CNA at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. Lauren received a dual degree in Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri. She is currently working toward her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (DNP) through the University of Missouri as well.

She spent her internship semester assisting the elderly achieve a better quality of life. While an undergraduate Lauren worked with an outpatient psychiatric facility to fill in the gaps of psychiatric care by traveling to schools all across mid-Missouri to assess, diagnose, treat, and provide resources for children and adolescents. As a pediatric unit and pediatric intensive care unit nurse before, during, and after the prime of the pandemic Lauren saw first-hand how COVID-19 affected not only people’s physical health, but also their mental health. Lauren hopes to help others on the more preventative care side of healthcare.
